VNC Reverse Connection Bat

I am not sure if anyone has done this before or would know where to
find info but this is what I want to do.

I created a batch file that when run, it tells a PC's VNC server to
connect to me. I want it so that, Windows XP can run the batch file at
startup before anyone even logs on, and connects back to me. So say I
have to do a WindowsUpdate, I don't lose access to that machine until
they user can logon and rerun the batch file.

Microsoft sent me an email stating.

"We have been informed that you have 10 machines, in which only two
are running Windows. If this does not change, we will contact your ISP
and have you shutdown. Thank you, and we apoligize for any
inconvience."

I tried something similar with RealVNC 4.1.

I did it with a Python script running as a service, so I'm not
sure how you do it with a .bat file (not sure if Scheduler would
run it before anyone logs on).

But there was a worse problem: the command "WinVNC -connect xxx"
requires the VNC server tray icon to be active, and it's not,
until someone logs on.

For details see my thread
"Can server connect when nobody logged on"
on the RealVNC list starting April 7.

Apparently TightVNC is on the same code base as RealVNC 3.3.

If someone on this TightVNC list knows how to do it,
i'll be really interested.

Thanks Adam.

This implies that UltraVNC server is different from RealVNC, and
*can* connect without a tray icon present.

But there may still be an obstacle -
I need the listening viewer to accept a connection from the
local machine, as it's coming in through sTunnel.

TightVNC viewer can't do this.
Can UltraVNC viewer?
RealVNC viewer can; i wonder if it's compatible with UltraVNC
server?

nest step, i get UltraVNC and try it. :)

Hi Jim,

UltraVNC is not compatible with the VNC standard, so you may need to
explicitly configure VNC & VNC-compatible software to only use the old
Protocol 3.3 in order for UltraVNC to work with it.

Cheers,
